This cycle route, marked by signposts, takes you from the idyllic town of Ystad on the south coast of Sweden right up to the northern town of Haparanda on the Finnish border: a distance of approx. 2500 kilometers. This long stretch from south to north naturally offers a rich variety of scenery and spots of cultural interest. You will enjoy long sandy beaches in the south and, as you go along, the unique Baltic archipelago with its thousands of islands often within reach. Green pasture land and smiling lakes, silent forests and rapid rivers in the exotic North will welcome you as you go along. East coast villages and towns, including the capital of Stockholm (”the Venice of the North”), will now and then offer a change from the peaceful country roads, which mostly characterize the “Cykelspåret East Coast Cycle Route”.
