It is the ambition of ViaRhôna, the EuroVelo 17 in France, to bring you from the shores of the Lake Geneva to the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, by following the Rhone river. This cycling 815 km itinerary alternates between greenways and shared routes, taking the cycling tourist from the alpine panoramas to the beaches of the Camargue, while crossing the emblematic vineyard landscapes of the Cotes du Rhone and the southern part of the Provence: hilltop villages, lavender fields and olive groves, gastronomic discoveries, remarkable sites or natural areas. Genuine path of civilizations, the Rhone Cycle Route presents 2000 years of history and cultural heritage along it's course, some of them being UNESCO world heritage (in Lyon, Avignon, Arles).
