EuroVelo 7 in Austria offers stunning scenery, cycling along alpine rivers; passing through beautiful towns like Linz and Salzburg and some of Europe’s largest nature reserves. The route follows minor roads in the province of Upper Austria, later following the Danube river through the town of Linz, and the famous “Schlögener Loop”, until you reach Passau. You then follow the Austrian-German border, through the nature reserves of the Inn valley. From Salzburg, EuroVelo 7 follows the Alpe-Adria Trail, making use of railway tunnels to cross the Alps. Cycle routes through the province of Carinthia lead you to the border crossing with Italy.
