The route passes through the UNESCO Lednice-Valtice landscape area. Cycling through floodplain forest with occasional stops at historic monuments built in nature between Břeclav to Lednice and Valtice is especially rewarding. A must stop is at the medieval town of Mikulov with its outstanding château and Jewish quarter and cemetery. Mikulov is set at the foot of the Palava hills and landscape protected area with numerous vineyards and excellent wines. In the southern part the route is all flat to the capital of South Moravia, Brno. After Brno the route enters the Moravian carst which is a unique area filled with caves but also more challenging terrain for cycle tourists. Next part of Moravia known as Hana is flat and rich in agriculture. the regional center of Hana, Olomouc, is an important historic town and UNESCO site. From Olomouc you will cycle through Litovel on the Morava river floodplains through Litovel and Zabreh where a hillier section is ahead past Sumperk and Jeseník through Jeseníky mountains to Poland.
