Opening of a 'floating' cycle path in Luxembourg City

Luxembourg City has a new cycle and pedestrian path under the city's famous Adolphe Bridge. They are located on the EuroVelo 5- Via Romea (Francigena).

On Sunday, 17th September 2017 a new cycle and pedestrian path, suspended beneath the Adolphe Bridge in the centre of Luxembourg City, has been officially inaugurated during a car-free event in the capital of the Grand Duchy.

The path hangs directly underneath the road of the historic Adolphe Bridge, which has just been renovated to carry tram lines, two lanes of car traffic, and two wide pedestrian pavements. The path is located between the spans of the supporting pillars and offers a spectacular view over the Petrusse Valley. The shared cycle and pedestrian path has a width of 4 m and links Boulevard Royal and Avenue de la Liberté on either side of the bridge. Construction costs amounted to approximately € 7 million.
